June is #PrideMonth

LGBTQ+ Pride Month is celebrated annually to honor the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer community. This opportunity allows us to uplift LGBTQ voices while advancing protections for our LGBTQ+ community.

The Maricopa County Democratic Party (MCDP) firmly believes all people deserve equal status and protection under the law regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Throughout June, there are a couple of ways you can help us further this cause.

MCDP LGBTQ+ Committee Chair Nick De Leon had this to say about Pride Month:

"June is a special time for the LGBTQ+ community where we reflect on how far we've come, but also, where we want to go. The MCDP LGBTQ+ Committee is dedicated to inclusivity, visibility, and advocacy. We envision a future where our community is reflected in leadership, holding our seat at the decision-making table, where we can be ourselves freely without fear of prejudice -- a future where love conquers all. It is with pride we reflect on the activism and leadership of Trans women of color who came before us, and it is with pride we continue the fight for a better future for the LGBTQ+ community."
